T99 (Pair)

Pair of large 18th century North Italian console tables of Louis XVI period, with stunning Pietra Paesina “Ruin Marble” tops. The carved walnut and poplar frames are largely creamy laccato with original macca gilding.  Pietra Paesina, from the Tuscan hills, was the marble used for background landscape (paesina) in fine pietra dura. c.1790
