A particularly fine and large pair of Empire period ormolu candlesticks with fluted upright and base chased with vases of flowers and vines. Paris c.1815

In fabulously original condition, both still bear the signature in pen to the underside by Vanier styling himself Doreur et Argenteur ( as he was registered in 1813. By 1820 he was styled Fondeur as well) along with his address 42 rue des Arcis.
